The closer I get to becoming a professional academic, the more I realise that I don't want to fall into many of the traps that are related to the profession.

eh...just be yourself. you're awesome enough. Academia is filled with people that tend to buck the system anyway.

Blindness really was that awesome eh? It had me shaking on the subway. I'm a sucker for apocalyptic fiction. And I just LOVE Saramango's style!

You've got me thinking now about what my top 20 books would end up being...

Well I'm not so interesting in bucking the system, as I am not letting it get to my head - the elitism and the snobbery...I find myself becoming that more and more (some say I always was, but I've really started to notice it and it's not something that I'm proud of).

I almost want to start a community (if it doesn't exist already) where people can share their top 20 and talk about it with others...but really who has that kind of time?

I might post my list sometime this week, once I have my presentation on Pascal done...
