Is anyone else disappointed with the party rules for MidAmeriCon II?

LonCon had similar problems. It does seem that hotel contracts are getting more and more aggressive about insisting that their catering services be used, since that's such a profitable part of their business. Maybe the losers party and some of the corporate entities can afford to host parties, but probably not very many small non-profit groups.

I guess we need to start asking questions about this sort of thing at bid parties from now on.

I agree that we should start asking. However, we should also steel ourselves for being told that it won't be a problem (because they haven't negotiated that with the place yet) and then having it be a problem anyway.
