Wednesday, June 21, partly cloudy

Ok....how to start this. It’s Wednesday, it’s hovering between cloudy and sunny, and it’s fifteen minutes away from being officially evening. Today I replanted flowers I’ve been nursing from seedlings, finally got the glue gunk off of our new cookie sheets, and worked on pasting the last of my Camden Herald articles into a notebook ( Read more... )

From One Unemployed Writer to Another opheliawins June 23 2006, 18:10:57 UTC
Hey girly. I know how you feel about the "brick walls." I've been struggling with feeling like I wasted my time on college and internships, and all the other writing-oriented things I've done to try to build up some sort of resume that turns out to be worthless. Everywhere I go I am either underqualified or overqualified. I can't even get a damn job delivering pizza anymore because they take one look at my education and job history and never call me back! Keep your chin up. From someone that has been unemployed for two-three month periods now since college, something's gotta give eventually. I was just contacted this week by a small publishing company for an Editorial Assistant job. I don't like to get my hopes up but hopefully this is my break. Love ya. Feel free to e-mail me anytime!

I do mean tomorrow! I'll be free at about 2:30. We're going punting, so I may be wet. I'm really not sure where we'll be. I can just meet you somewhere, like the George St. bus station? If that's bad, you can try to e-mail me something better. I'm going to try to check this in the morning, but we're leaving early, so I don't know if I can. I'll look and see if I have your phone number so I can call. Otherwise (like if you don't get a call or e-mail from me) let's just say the bus station at 2:30. YAY!! Talk to you or see you then!

My cell phone is 07745686257. 2:30 at the bus station is fine by me, though!

Hello, my Oxford kitten. I just want to encourage you and wish u all the best in looking for a job. I know how things can get hard, and the writing field is not the best place to become an aspiring person, but there has to be a break somewhere, right? Love u.
