Um....I really don't understand today's Anime fans or maybe I've just grown up and changed and I'm not quite like them anymore. Ugh...the normal room the class was in

You were likely not as bad. And it's not just younger anime fans that get this sort of reaction from me. It's college students in general. My students grate on my nerves on a daily basis. I have to often bite back the urge to say something along the lines of "Stop being a self-entitled little brat and use the 3 pound organ in your head at least once in your life."

I think its a generational thing. I know in one of my business books there was a long discussion about the problems that the younger generation has in the work place. Because they come from a world where they have been given everything and never loose (because even in games "we're all winner because we all participated.") they are unrealistic and unprepared. Its really sad and it makes you question, if these kids are self-absorbed, what will happen with their children? That's really scary.
