The MJ Experience

I just got through playing some songs on The Michael Jackson Experience video game for XBox.  It was super fun!  There are a good variety of songs from MJ's career.  You can either do the dancing by itself, dance and sing, or on some songs-just sing.  I liked doing the performance part (singing and dancing) because while you are singing you get a ( Read more... )

What's funny is that I think the Wii version has the more accurate dance moves and routines. I actually find it to be more of a workout if you get into it.

While Kinect has the singing, I'm finding a lot of the routines very repetitive and limited. My voice is also on the fritz due to allergies, so I wish there was just a dance mode.

I kind of expected a little more after liking Dance Central so much.

I don't think we would get the same game for two systems, so I don't think I will ever play the Wii version, but I am having fun with the Xbox version! I haven't played through all the songs yet though.

What's funny is that they're really not the same game. The subject matter is the same, but they are presented in two very different ways and set-ups. The Wii is set up more like his music videos with styles, costumes, characters, and special effects. It feels more like being Michael. The Kinect version is more of a concert experience. The dancing in Kinect (not factoring in the singing) feels more like being a backup dancer in comparison.

Some of the Kinect songs are a little more involved seeming after playing more today, but I don't think they have a lot of the signature movesets that the Wii does. Take a look on YouTube sometime. You'll see what I mean.

I'm getting into the Kinect version, but it's a very different take on the material. But just my thought on it.

Did yours come with the sparkly glove?
