This is a battle familiar to me, though perhaps not to the extent that it is apparently familiar to you.

Believe me. It may not sound epic to you, but I felt it. I know that deep, visceral grip that the fear of failure has, the kind you feel just between your guts and your lungs, or in the back of your mind. And I know the courage it takes to break that grip. Too often, I have neglected to summon that courage.

But, when writing this post, you did not. You took a step. A difficult step, taken in spite of fear - two steps, if you followed through on that email. That is the truest test of courage, and what is more epic than a test of courage?
