How legal would it be to create a law that both hands must be on the wheel while driving only in order to recieve funding from hands-free phone companies? Would that be a benifit to society, reguardless of the reasons for doing so? Where do such actions become justified if done specifically for the funding?

That would discriminate against those with manual transmissions (a lot of stick shift drivers tend to keep one hand on the stick at all times) and those of us who, while not driving irresponsibly, nevertheless drive with less than both hands on the wheel at all times (I usually rest my right hand on the gear shift while steering with my left; it feels more comfy that way).

No, I don't think a law like that should go through, and I'm not even getting into the ethical troubles with that here.

I'm sure they'd excuse war veterans... then ignore them for the most part.
