Farewell to a Few

It's important that I remember that certain people are not bad people. It's just that their priorities and energy are in different places than mine even if their intentions aren't. A long time back I realized that everyone has priorities that are important in their lives and that those might not be the ones that are important in mine. I don't take it personally, I accept that this is just the way the world works.

In other news, Matt is getting more money at his new job and my book is getting published next year, so I should have more money coming in soon. This means I might actually be able to go to some of the ICPIR events that cost money, instead of being a "silent member". :P

My priority still has to be the kids first, but if I can pay my way, then at least I can contribute SOMETHING to this endeavor. I still have my T-shirt and dammit one day I will wear it. >:(

Sorry to read you're having friend issues. It sounds like you have the right attitude about things though.

These are pretty longstanding issues and it's just really time to stop actively hoping "they'll get better" and live up to promises of maintaining contact and arranging for time. If they ever really want to get together, I'm available, but the ball is completely in their court now. I'm not holding on any longer.
