some scribbles for @lilalanor on her birthday

5 years post-war, Finnick lives AU. Finnick and Annie POVs, 100% trauma-recovery fluff, 0% plot of any kind. Accidentally got longer than I meant it to. sorrynotsorry

Somehow, Finnick still can’t shake the dreams.

It seems absurd, years after the war ended, lying in bed with his wife, to wake ( Read more... )

sooooo gooooooood give me all postwar PTSD and healing yesssss, I love all 3 of them and the way they're all still hurting and the ways they do and don't come together/fall apart/ come together again

(the name "Rory" made me laugh though because the Odesta sproglet is 'Noah' in my universe and Rory is, I think, also a Hawthorne sibling in canon, but it's such a pretty name)

Haha idk when I decided the Odesta bb was Rory it just showed up at some point and I hate names so I went with it :)

I like how they're all still their own kind of fucked up but they're also healing and helping each other and FRIENDS

Ohhhh I love this. Although as an Australian I'm like, DUDE NO DON'T SWIM ALONE. AT NIGHT. IN THE OCEAN.

Ahem. Anyway. Finnick didn't drown, so we're good.

I love love love how Finnick is able to tell Jo that he thinks he's ugly, and Annie that he's dirty, (UGH WHY FINNICK you break my heart) and that they both respond in different but loving ways. And it's cool seeing the little differences in life post-war, with food and fruit and people from other districts. I bet fashion in the districts is changing, and music and culture. I bet the education system is changing a lot too - and I bet in a few years there will be more literature and stories and media because of that.

haha yeah swimming alone at night in the ocean is never a GOOD idea but it's probably less-bad here than in AUS? But also Finnick's risk assessment metrics are extremely Off so ??

I enjoyed writing all of them being broken in different ways and helping each other in different ways :)

oh man i bet the education system is tooootally different! that's a neat idea to think about
