Not sure why I bother to do this every year since I never manage to get through even a tiny fraction of the books on the list, but here is my reading list for 2011.
Maybe I should make a reading list this year... My habit is usually to finish a book, then find another one on my shelf that strikes my interest at that moment. I usually keep a shelf of to-read books for that purpose.
This is an absolutely brilliant list - some of my favourite books and authors here!!
In what it hopefully a useful and not condescending/unhelpful way - I'd recommend bumping The Windup Girl to the back of the priority list... I was given a copy to review and I just found it impenetrable... considering that I was being paid £20 to finish it and write 300 words about the experience, that's saying a lot! :S
It could honestly just be me - I know it's had rave reviews - but given that I generally adore sci-fi, dystopian futures and steampunk/biopunk/whatever this is calling itself; I'm surprised by how fervently I disliked it!
I never get through much of my to-read pile either, particularly because I am always adding to it as I go. But you read a great bunch of books (many of which are on my to-read pile, actually), and several were major door-stoppers, so I'm definitely impressed!

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Maybe I'll just see if I can find it at the library instead of buying it?
