Finally - my Dragon*Con recap :)

Sep 10, 2008 00:38

OK, I just needed to recover from Dragon*Con before posting about it. I think I forgot a lot about the con already though! Maybe that's best, what happens at D*Con stays at D*Con.

As always it was great seeing all of my long distance friends. I'm glad this convention gives us an excuse to all find ourselves in the same location once a year. Well, I ( Read more... )

I'm so glad you had a great time this year and got to get to all the panels you wanted. I hope David got over his allergies quickly!

You look gorgeous as Jeannie :) All your costumes are fantastic :)

Thanks, it took quite a few days for David to get back to normal but he's better now.

Yeah, Jeannie was fun to wear again. Though I look quite a bit older than I did when I first wore it :( That was kind of tough to see. Other than that adding the full on blonde wig and really going to town with it was fun! (I'm usually not fond of wigs. I usually prefer hairpieces).

It was great meeting you again :-) Sorry to hear about David though :-( Were you guys in the Marriott? Our room's AC was blowing right onto us on the bed and every morning I woke up with my eyes sealed shut from the allergies. Ours smelled mildewy too, I don't think I've ever taken so much Claratin and Benadryl in my life over one weekend.

Awesome Pics as usual, and I sent you two links to really great ones of David, they look like TV Stills from BSG or something lol.

It's great that you got to your panels, I only made it to one, the really late night Dr. Horrible Sing Along Live (like 1am or something) lol. Next year, I'm going to try to see more.. I think...

Yup, we were in the Marriott. We'll continue to stay there I guess, and I'm telling him next year to lay off the Chinese food in the food court. If they had preservatives or something in the food he could have been fighting one of his food allergies on top of just being hot, tired and breathing in mold every night. LOL! I'm sooooo glad I'm not allergy prone like he is. It would make life miserable ( ... )

I love your Jeanne costume! It looks fantastic on you!

You totally deserve winning RL costumer of the year. I think you've done more than anyone forwarding research on a lot of costumes. Sadly, I apparently missed the voting, I didn't even know you had been nominated.

Oh, it's OK you didn't vote for costumer of the year. I think Maggie has helped people out the most with SW costuming. If she were an active RL member I'd nominate her in a heartbeat and I bet she'd win too! Everyone knows Padawan's Guide :)

Jeannie was fun to wear for sure, but it was odd putting it on after 7 years. I've aged a lot since I was 31 :(

I absolutely love your Jeannie costume too!

Heh - the Wolfpack party. Yeah, I wore Ginger Rogers to that. You should have found me, we could have been a bastion of taste. It's such a crazy thing, that party, I'm drawn to it like a moth. The boys in my posse like it as well, so we always go.

Thanks! Jeannie was fun, I think I will probably bring it back next year. I just hope I can change into it more quickly.

Yeah, I remember you were thinking of going to the Wolfpack party! I mostly wanted to say hi to Cassandra and see her costume - and luckily she exited for a break just when I got down there. I felt way out of place there, mostly because of my costume. And partly because it seemed more like a big rave. Which is OK, it's not like I haven't been to a rave-type nightclub before. The Yule Ball was just more my speed :) But you never know, if the wolfpack party is on a Saturday like it was last year and I have on a more appropriate costume I could see myself spending more time there if my friends are there again.

You look awesome in your BSG blues! Your Dream of Jeannie was really popular too - tons of people took your picture! :-)

I'm glad you got to all the BSG stuff. I enjoyed the ones I went to. :-) It was fun to see Michael Hogan relax and really get in to it by the end of the week. Since he never does this, it must have been really rewarding to see how popular his character is and how popular the show is that people like running around in the costumes!

Haha, I still don't know how I look in my blues since David never takes my picture... hahaha! It's my least photographed costume of all. Whatever, I made it more because I'm a fan of the show and because I knew it was a costume David would like. He actually loves it and wears it to every convention he goes to so at least one person is getting good milage out of all that research ( ... )

I thought I got a pic of you last year? I should have this year! :-) Either way, I think it looks great on you - you look like you just walked off the set! :-)

I bet it is a great experience for them - no other genre of tv has this kind of things. Funny how SF is kind of bottom of the totem pole in Hollywood, but the actors do get cons where their hardcore fans celebrate them and their shows.
