Phew! I finished editing and uploading Dragon*Con photos!

So if you looked earlier, it's worth checking out again as some days were only up partially.

Ah, I bought the Cannon SD 1100 after asking sistersola which one she had last year.

As a result, this year was the first D*C where I felt like I got decent photos.

I'm sorry to hear they "upgraged" it, and the new one doesn't work as well. It's a shame when a company tries to fix things that don't need fixing.

Lovely photos... Thank you for sharing!

Yeah, I wonder if I should a) try to find the older SD1100? Maybe it will be a discounted price since it's old? b) Wait to see what new cameras come out this year. Maybe they will take the advise of their customers and not force high megapixels with cruddy image results down our throats just because Joe Average consumer only understands that 'high # of megapixels must be better - I have to upgrade!'. Not true. You start to sacrifice other things that are more important to the picture quality if you make the camera too tiny and number of pixels in total excess.

I always enjoy browsing your convention photos, thanks for sharing :) So many wonderful costumes :)

Matt and I want to upgrade our cameras for next year (couldn't quite afford to this time) - He's looking at a Canon dslr, and I'd like to get a compact little point and shoot. Always hard trying to decide on a camera without knowing what quality of photos it can produce - may have to look into that SD1100...

From what I know, the SD1100 is 'OK' if your goal is to have a super tiny camera that takes OK pictures. I think my friends who use it also tend to have to go into manual mode with it as the auto mode gives them problems too. But the SD1100 gets better reviews on image quality than my newer SD1200 ( ... )
