Why the vid's insist on going on top, I'll never know...

So went up again to ride Star today. I have some video of him at the trot and canter... and beleive it or not, I think he slowed down a little. It's kind of funny to watch because when I first looked at it I had to double check to make sure it wasn't playing fast LOL... At the end I lost it ( Read more... )

I swear if we did not know his was part arab, I swear he would be part Pasa Fino... he trots like one and fast! LOL! I noticed some changes in the trotting video, he actually relaxed for a few seconds and lowered his head, he will learned that will be alot more comfortable then riding so high, when he previous owner rode him like that! Good job! It was fun! I think he really enjoyed his bath too and of course the cookies! He is a good boy!

I really like him... he's fun to ride. His canter was super comfortable despite his speed. When he would lower his head at the trot, it wasn't as bad, you felt a moment of floaty, breif as it was.. It is so hard not to lean forward on him... I keep yelling at myself when I watch the video "Sit BACK" though it doesn't look as bad as it felt when I was doing it... I felt like I was leaning way more forward than that...

I just went back to look at the videos again...

First, yes that is hilarious that you hear the saddle squeaking like that, I will have to oil it! LOL!

Second, it amazes me the energy Star has and he is 24 years old! He sure does not look it or act like it! Truly amazing!

I'm going to leave my extra saddle in the car for now and try him in that next time... Oh, and tomorrow I'll get the show pictures up. I'll email Tiff with the link so she can grab any pictures she may want of her students... I think I may have gotten a few good ones... hope that little roan is OK... I LOVED him...

LOL omg. he actually reminds me of waylan a lot, waylan has that same long back and he always runs around like he's trying to win a foot race. :P i'm sure he'll get better with more work. although maybe not, reading that he's an arab...heh.

He seems to be a quick learner... so we shall see. I am sure he'll never do a western shuffle type trot or anything... but if I can get him to collect himself a little I bet he would be a smoother ride at least LOL... He would have made an AWESOME endurance horse in his day, I bet!
