Alright, lets see if I can get these photos right. I trimmed Taco's feet.. They were already chipping after two weeks, so I got a lesson from a friend on how to do it and I though I would give it a go. I could have been more aggressive with the toe, but I was conservative as it was my first go :P But I still brough it back from where the farrier ( Read more... )

Please don take this as a personal criticism expect that you asked for opinions and here is my ( non-professional) one.

Its hard to tell from the side view but im a little concerned by what appears to be a lack of wall contact with the ground. While the before pictures did look a bit long and sharp I hope you only rasped to round the edge and did not clip off the wall. I see nothing wrong with the sole shot other than I like to see a rounded edge.

Keep in mind conservative is always better when trimming feet. It isnt hard to do too much and the second it took to trim too much can takes months (and months and months) to correct.

Cosservative is better, yeah, that was my throey too... My main goal was to do just that... just take the sharp edges off. He doesn't normally chip like that (not that it is much by some peoples standards) so quickly after a trim (and I have had him 10 years... maybe by 6 weeks, but not 2 after a trim) I just didn't want them to get worse. I'd rather have to do it soon again, then take too much off at once and screw him up :P

Taco needs a nice short toe, especially in the back. One of the farriers I used to have before I moved did more of a mustang roll with his feet and it was a great trim.
