First of all ekaterini you should have dropped everything and come. School? Work? PSHAW! There was room for two more, and I promise I'd not harass your guest... too much.

Ahaha, that " really small town" is bigger than ours. My local town(few miles down the road, the ranch is out in county land) has only one grocery store, and population of around 400. This looks very similar to my area, but we are on the East side of Washington.

Good thing I am too busy to turn into a homicidal maniac from boredom!

All work and all play keeps Jack sane.

What's a good spot to rent a house in Eastern Washington? We might want to try a different area next time. I checked a few spots around Leavenworth, but any farther east I don't know what it's like.

Hmmm. We have never rented a house like that. We do the RV thing or stay in hotels. It also depends on what you guys like to do.

If you want a cute Main Street with boutiques and restaurants, I recommend Sandpoint Idaho. Not in Washington, but just across the border. That is where we go when in the mood for a meal out. Lovely landscape, plenty of bike and walking paths, and a couple of decent used book stores.

If you just want to get away from everything and rough it, Metalline Falls, WA is a pretty out of the way location. You need a car to get around though. There is a historic hotel on Main Street, couple of cafes, one grocery store, and that is pretty much it...except for the river and the lakes and the hiking trails. You can rent canoes too, I believe. Besides, if you decide to go over there we will invite you over to the ranch for the best steak cookout ever!
