This "winter storm" needs to move right on past Southern California. I've had a headache for three days, and I have a feeling it's not going anywhere until the pressure system changes.
I went from August 18 to February 3 without having a single recorded weight gain. I lost more than 30 pounds and was within 10 pounds of my goal weight. I was feeling good!
Then, last week I gained .8 lbs. I had eaten a lot of salty food, so this past week I tried to really watch my sodium intake. I only used about 5 of my 49 extra weekly points (you should be able to use them ALL and still lose weight). And I gained 1.4 lbs this week!
I've been working out between two and four times a week since New Years. I've been drinking my 64+ ounces of water. I eat at least five to six servings of fruit and veggies every day. Lean protein. Whole grains. Low carbs.
I have been eating according to this formula for six months. I did swap some whole grain carbs for fruit when the plan changed in November, but basically it's been pretty consistent. Weekends are a little harder--I may not get all my water in, and might spend more points on carbs instead of protein--but I stay within my points.
I cannot figure out what could be causing weight gain all of a sudden! The exercise I've been so diligent about for the last six or seven weeks is not muscle-building. It's a lot of cardio and some resistance for toning, but not building. I can't imagine I've gained enough muscle mass to account for 2.2 pounds of weight gain in two weeks!
BAH!
So I'm off Diet Coke again. I did it (for, um, a whole two weeks) in November and it seemed to help. And I'm trying more protein during the day. I packed a celery stick with peanut butter for a snack today.
*crosses fingers* I am so close to my goal!
Sigh. I am glad it's Friday, and the weekend is within reach. I'm even gladder that it's a three-day weekend!
