I’m in here for a bunch of stuff: theft, breaking and entering, assault, brawling in public, resisting arrest. You know, the usual.

I’ve seen a lot of others come and go. Sometimes they’re here a ( Read more... )

Thanks. :) It was the result of having gone to bed and after a couple fruitless attempts at sleep, I figured I may as well get up and write a story.

Well, thank you! I've 3 dogs myself, so I really enjoy writing them as a main character.

awwwwww! That was wonderful. I teared up a bit by the end. eeeee. And I love the dog's voice, how for the first part you can mistake it for a homeless human put in jail.

Thank you! I was going for something emotional, but I wasn't sure I pulled it off.

This was so good! About the third time it repeated, I realized that he was a dog. (I know my dog's memory is about 10-15 minutes, max.) ^_^ It was the perfect length and told a heartwarming story. I loved the part about keeping the boy's secrets.

Thank you for the very enjoyable read. Good luck in the poll!

Glad you liked it! I'm happy it wasn't apparent that it was a dog right from the beginning. Usually my attempts at obscurity aren't so obscure to anyone besides myself. Thanks!

You win the internets. Oh man, this was so moving. I knew it was a dog half-way through, and I root, I root, I root for him. I hope he was going to be picked up. And then he did. And I was pumping a fist into the air. This was brilliant. The pace and the ending! Just beautiful, emotional, incredible work.

LOVE IT.
