We had ordered Verizon's new Fios a week or so ago. Yesterday, verizon contractors were out bright and early to install a switch box at the street and bury an optic line up to our house. The actual installation isnt scheduled until October 21st as that's the first day that someone will be available to let the installation tech into our house

I feel your pain. i have scumcast as a provider and spend up to 25 min. a night with no service. I bitch on the phone and they say we can have a tech. come out and look at it. THEN the SOB never shows.. I hate scum cast.

Yep! sounds just like them. My downtime is usually between 8:30pm and 10pm. It also lasts for 15 mins to an hour.

Of course.. there's so many people who keep telling me "but cable is so much better then DSL". It always leaves me thinking "what planet are you from buddy cuz nightly downtime is not what I call quality service". Well, I got news for those folks, in the 5 years I had DSL, I have had exactly 4 days in which I had downtime. Of those 4 days, the longest ever with no internet was 5.5 hours and they even called ME to report that my connection was restored and have me check my connection to make sure I was happy.

I agree.. comcast is the suck. hehe scumcast. You're so right. I cant wait till im back with Verizon.
