Confession.

I have never really watched, nor wanted to watch an episode of Dr. Who. I just could never get to a point where I would sit down and watch. The show must have been good, I mean, alot people are obviously in the know over this show. I can recognize a knitted Dr. Who scarf from a mile away and that was even before Dellenn knitted one for her LJ friend ( Read more... )

I've never been very enamored of Dr. Who. When I was a kid, it and Star Trek were the only two SF shows regularly on TV and I watched them both. I also watched Space 1999, Battlestar, UFO, and even the infamous The Starlost -- all of which were from beyond Dreadful.

Dr. Who wasn't that bad, but it's certainly no Trek, Firefly, B5, or BSG 2.0 either. It's cute. A bit silly. Very whimsical.

I'd check it out, but don't feel guilty if you don't like it :)

Whoa, there is a new Dr. Who?

I dunno...

I loved the original Dr. Who. It was always that and the Tomorrow People in the same hour and I was glued to the television.

I don't know how I'd feel about a NEW Dr. Who.

So? Did you watch?
I just wanted to say (getting here late and all) that I could never watch the old Dr Who because it was so freakin' low-budget. I hated any show that used that low budget film. Made everything look weird.
So, I can't tell you if this version is any better than the other (plots, writing, acting) but it's enjoyable and Spouse, who adored the old, adores the new.
And we're a year behind and the new doctor is going to be replaced by a new doctor, LOL. The New new doctor was voted hotest man of the year or something in England so maybe you better watch it because he's going to be a big deal when he debuts here. Fan girls at all the cons and stuff.

I know what you mean by low-budget. That's why I could never really get into watching the original star trek (even has a little kid).

I did watch it. While it doesnt blow me away, It's light and fun. I found it watchable. It's not on my "must watch at all costs!" list, I will continue to watch and it's on the lower priority tivo list :)
