one of my biggest hatreds is related to just how many organizations buy into the myth of awesomeness and use them for T-shirts. (Planned Parenthood comes to mind quickest, but that's only because i have their shirt from them they gave me for the walk during the RePubes convention 4 years ago.)
Thankfully I think that might be changing. I can't remember which left-wingerish organization I saw advertising this, but they explicitly said "Made in America, but NOT American Apparel!" As if to say, we're not only aware enough to support American manufactoring, but we're so aware we know that American Apparel is awful too!
One good hint is that if something is marked Union Made, it's not made by American Apparel, which union busts and has been boycotted by both SEIU and UNITE HERE.
I have a couple of accidental AA shirts, but nothing purposefully bought from them.
