1. I'm terrified of falling. This translates into me being a total freak about walking up/down stairs, using ladders, and even standing on chairs. Clearly I will die if I take a tumble from the great height of about a foot and a half.
2. I think Stayfree feminine products smell like lemons. I know that they aren't supposed to be lemony fresh but they are!

When Xander had first seen the bottle of "Eternity for Men" sitting on his side of the sink in the bathroom, all he'd been able to think about was that Saturday Night Live skit with the guy making out with the dog. But Anya was super excited about giving it to him and she said she really like the way it smelled so he kept the whole bestiality association to himself.
He'd splash some on in the morning, just before putting on his shirt and tie. He made sure to always grab a little extra when they were doing something coupley. Sometimes when they were walking down the street or cuddling on the couch she turn her head into his shoulder and breathe deep and her smile was always more than enough reward.
After the wedding that wasn't he'd stood in front of the mirror for a while, hefting the bottle in his hand and thinking about what a satisfying crash it would make if he just hurled it straight into the mirror. In the end memories of Anya's smile had won out and he shoved it away under the sink, whole and unbroken.
He'd forgotten all about using cologne in the months that followed. There was too much else to worry about. When the most important part of his morning routine was rubbing ointment into his empty eye socket, who could care about smelling good?
Wearing cologne in Africa was a fool's game. It made people stand out as strangers. After the first six months there Xander could smell a European coming when the wind was right. Pretty soon he and everything else he owned smelled like wind over sun-baked earth and that suited him fine.
When he finally returned to England, Andrew showed him his Council-provided flat, taking giving the tour very seriously. He talked about how everyone had helped him stock it with things they remembered that Xander liked, right down to the toothpaste. It wasn't home, not yet, but the care made it feel much more welcoming.
It wasn't until he was getting ready for bed that he noticed it: a bottle of Eternity sitting on the bathroom counter. He reached for it but stopped just short of making contact. He could throw it into the mirror this time. He could hide it under the sink again. But he wasn't the same guy who'd wanted to do either of those things and so he let it be.
It sat on the counter for weeks, an unsettling presence when he rose in the morning and when he got ready to sleep it at night. He didn't look directly at it very often but he was always aware that it was only inches away.
Then there was the thing where he had to pretend to be Kennedy's boyfriend and that meant getting ready for a date and that meant cologne. He didn't have time to run out and buy anything else so Xander gritted his teeth and used the Eternity. When the wacky hijinks were over and the demons were dead, Kennedy wrapped her arms around Willow and told Xander he smelled good before they left.
He let himself notice the scent for the first time and it reminded him of Anya so strongly that he half expected to look up and see her there. That made him angry - what right did a thing called Eternity have to remind him of her when her time had been so very short? He'd stumbled into the bathroom and picked up the bottle, ready to throw it out and be done with it.
Xander glanced down at the bottle and remembered how pleased Anya had been when he'd said he liked it. It had made her happy every time he'd worn it. His grip on the bottle loosened and he placed it back down on the counter.
It wasn't fair that she didn't get to have an eternity on earth, exploring the world and finding more things to make her happy. In his heart, though, he was certain that an even better eternity had been waiting for her. She'd died saving the world and that had to mean she was in heaven, just like the others who'd fallen that day.
The next morning he'd only hesitated a moment before picking up the bottle and splashing a little on his hands. He closed his eyes and wished Anya happiness and peace, wished it for all of them, forever.
