"Xander...it's green."
"Well, I know that, Spike! It's St. Patrick's day! Green is the official color and all."
"But...it's green."
Xander sighed, again. "Don't make me smack you, Spike. Yes, it's green. You're supposed to wear something green today, or you get pinched."
Spike dubiously eyed the object in question. "I think I'd rather be pinched."
"Spike!" Xander pouted, eyelashes batting hopefully.
"If you think, for one instant, I'm letting you stick that in my..." He shuddered, unable to even finish the sentence.
"Well, it's not like you've never done it before," Xander retorted angrily.
"Yeah, but never when it was green!"
"Why are you so fixated on the green thing?!"
Spike threw his hands up. "Because! It's just not right! Mold is green. Grass is green. Haf'dek demons are green! But there are some things that are not supposed to be green!"
Xander stared down miserably. "Fine," he muttered. "Be that way. But don't blame me when you come back all bruised from being pinched." He tossed the innocuous looking box on the bed. "Geez, it's not like it's a permanent hair dye, anyway. It washes right out."
