House on a Hill

Dec 05, 2010 00:15

I built this house about a month ago, but haven't posted any pictures of it yet. Currently it's not up for download for two reasons; one, that I have heard horror stories about non-flat lots completely borking people's hoods, and I wouldn't want to inadvertently destroy someone's game; and two, that I moved someone into the lot before I put it in ( Read more... )

What a gorgeous little house! I love your landscaping, it looks really natural. And your kitchen with all the little knick-nacks, I love filling up shelves in kitchens :D

Thank you! I was trying to go for a very "nature untouched" look, glad it worked!

Thanks, thanks. ^.^ I did never try that before neither. Well... Once before. But that wasn't that pretty as I think this mansion is (http://sims2snfkggh.hyves.nl/album/51859976/Gebouwen/bAeRnCta/fotos/990856829/0/R_qD/).

I tried to find words to describe how much I love this house but I failed, so you just have to believe me when I say that I ADORE it! :D Such a creative idea to build it on a hill, and I'm LOVING the backyard - it looks that kind of a place I'd love to spend time in.

Thank you!!! :D :D That was part of why I loved getting this idea.. because it's somewhere I'd want to be, and in a lot of ways resembles my home (not my actual home as in house, but the region I've grown up in).

I love the feeling I get when I look at this house :) It's perfect for sims who love mountains.

I don't think that making a house on a hill will mess the hood, if you make sure that the lot edges are flattened with Lot Adjuster. It's the edges that mess things up as far as I know.

Ahh ok so if I expand the edges to make it flat all around it's ok? Well then at some point I should do that, and FINALLY get the stay-things shrub and maybe make it a download. :)

Glad you liked it too!! :D I should probably have made it in Three Lakes or something... LOL maybe I'll have to move it.

You don't have to expand the edges, just use Lot Adjuster and choose advanced settings -> lot edges -> flatten. Here's a pics of it: http://thumbs2.modthesims.info/img/5/8/9/2/5/2/MTS2_Mootilda_1042197_5Advanced.JPG . If the lot edges are uneven with hood terrain, you can't fix it without Lot Adjuster. Here's the download link for it, just in case: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=384656 . :)

That would be perfect vacation home for Three Lakes, yes! :)

Wow, that is a really cool house! It's fantastic!
I'm terrible when it comes to landscaping in the game, not many hills in my hoods :/

Thank you! Hehhe yeah it's my only one.... all flat lots and then this guy... haha I did place it next to a neighborhood hill though, so it looks a little more realistic.
