Rachel unpacked the canvas Donna had given here and guilt overwhelmed her. The image was a play on M.C. Escher with offices, pillars and Latin phrases. She smiled. Donna would remember. When she had been new, Donna had taught her all the secrets of the library and the coffee machine and never once was glib about her cubicle.
“Don't let it all go to your head.”
“Jealous of always being outside of one when I have my own?”
Donna hadn't yelled or gotten angry, just walked quietly away.
Rachel really wished Donna had taken a swing.
