Day in teh Life

Feb 01, 2005 01:06

My day today:
I got up around noon.
David gave me some tea because my throat was quite sore, and I sounded like I had lost my voice, and he was afraid I was getting sick as his sister has pneumonia.
I also ate an orange.
Then there were discussions on what sort of cake to make for today (Tuesday) for Lana's friend's birthday.
Her friend is apparently sick, so no chocolate layer cake, but instead there will be pineapple upside-down cake.
We went to Raley's to get medications for his sister at the pharmacy. Also picked up some pineapple (in 100% no-sugar-added pineapple juice), mirin, rice vinegar, nori, and (my favourite) seashell pasta. That is what Lana calls it; seashells. Not shell pasta, seashell pasta. I made sure to get a box of the pasta specifically called seashell because I enjoyed this so much.
Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond where we got some new measuring cups and spoons; they have about 2 sets of each in their utensils drawer: all missing the same gradiates of measure, and a set of three (8.5, 9.5 and 10.5) springform pans for $10 (just the pans; the cups were like $4 and the spoons were $3).
Came back. David went to class. I played Final Fantasy X-2 for a couple hours; Lana came in to tell me there was food if I wanted any.
I had a small bowl of beef stew, two bread rolls and a cookie.
I then had 2 more cookies.
Another hour of FFX-2.
David then comes home, gives me half a bread roll and another cookie.
More FFX-2.
Two more cookies.
More FFX-2.
Talking, jokes, discussion of interesting things.
David hacks a cell phone to take any wireless carrier that uses SIM cards.
More FFX-2.
Making of sushi. Being called "quite useful" by David's sister.
The sushi was delicious.
I only had one piece though; I used what sushi rice I did't put in the two rolls and made a "scattered sushi" of it with strips of nori, red pepper, cucumber and shiitake.
Little FFX-2. Some talking and other stuff.
Adult Swim. Reading Kateri's LJ backlog and a few other random posts on my Friends Page. Talking to Kateri, Tim, Glen, and Beth.
I hate Big O.
Now I am going to sleep.
That has been my day.
I didn't send my resume out anywhere today as I was kind of bummed that no one send any response to the send outs I did this weekend. Will probably do more tomorrow. Hopefully, I will hear back from the catalogue design job tomorrow or Wednesday for a second interview and/or hiring offer.
The Brewfest people never emailed me back after saying I could have the job if I wanted it, and my saying that I did. :(
Beth has faith in me and my ability to find work. That is reassuring and important.
Tomorrow (today) is going to be busy: cake, errands, jobbish things, hopefully some sort of physical activity, probably going to Davis to get mail and talk to Alex.
