How have you even heard of The Mess Hall? I'm incredibly impressed! They're pretty obscure even here. Last thing I read they didn't even have a record deal in the US.
SP? Silverchair & Powder Finger? If the answer to that terse question is a yes, yeah I did. Went with who had a spare ticket. I'm not a huge fan of either band. I'll listen to 'em on the wireless but haven't paid for any of their music. Although I've played a couple of Powder Finger songs in the past. They both impressed me live though. I especially liked the cover of Who's Substitute that both bands did at the end. 'Twas the only song I knew all the words too. Showing my age eh?
Got the vibes although they seem to be wearing off :). The end is in sight however.
My mate and I are obsessive about music. We track down the tiniest bands. My NZ mater hooked me up with a few songs. However, neither of us have much of their music so if you want to send some along...;)
SP was meant to be Snow Patrol actually. I like Powder Finger in small doses but I'm not familiar with much of Silverchair's work. The cover sounds fun though. I'm a big fan of covers done right.
Sorry! I'll send more along. Best of luck getting to the flip side.
If The Mess Hall were any tinier they'd be a one-man band. Ha ha. I crack me up.
Mere went to Snow Patrol (also with tshirtgirl). TsG goes to about a million gigs a week. Mere and I have to tag team to keep up with her.
I thought Silver Chair/Powder Finger were going to finish with one or other of their own songs. So they start playing the intro and I'm thinking "They have so ripped of Substitute". They did a fine job though.
i'm always up for more music, however monday nights are uni nights. i'm not too sure when the semester actually finishes, if it turns out i don't have class that night i might tag along.
i'm going to another gig at the east brunswick club on friday this week, so at least it'll i'll have some idea of how long it'll take to get there... :P
