After a long weekend, I am reminded of How It Was When Employed!

There was always much anticipatory extra work in anticipation of the 3-Day weekend, almost like taking a vacation. While the long weekend was always cool, the Tuesday back at work could be a bitch.

How - despite all that prep - had the desk & phone calls managed to triple in only 3 days, especially since one usually had two of those days off? That always used to amaze me, too. But one day it realized it was unusually quiet the Friday before, so I figured I was getting Friday, Monday and Tuesday calls on Tuesday.

Yeah - a lot of people take off early Friday ... and the overflow begins!
