... how sketchy is it to find a room mate online? I think I found the perfect place but I don't trust the internet. Ironically. Thoughts? Its a 3 bedroom house, the rent is only $350 for my own room, it has a washer/drier, the girl even has a dog so my dog could have a play friend :) I asked for some more info and pictures if it was possible.

Well, I've had two roommates that were retrieved from the internet, and I adore one of them. It's not so much sketchy as luck of the draw to know if you're going to mesh well.

I agree with Kellie. People live with people they don't know all the time. I don't think there is any difference between finding a roommate online and posting flier or an add in the paper; which are the only other ways of finding roommates you don't know personally that I know of.

The rent sounds great, so all you can do is hope she doesn't live in squalor or have a lot of "friends" over.
