That was heart hurting and gorgeous. These boys protecting their hearts and not trusting that their feelings were returned made me ache for them and it seemed each time Arthur reached out Merlin pushed him away even though all he wanted was to hold him closer.

Thanks for making Merlin finally see straight and reach out for what they both wanted. If he hadn't made that move I think Arthur could have kept not making it either and they would have remained broken hearted "friends" forever. Now I believe that bottled up love you, love you, love you is finally going to make itself audible and probably reciprocated. These men deserve being honest with one another. Finally.

I think both of them were scared and worried how the other would handle their obviously deeper than friendship feelings. They had very little idea of how to vocalise the emotions and you're right, Merlin just needed to make that first move, Arthur was never going to! Thank you again for your lovely, lovely comment. x

Oh damn, it's like you reached into my heart and squeezed it in your fist! I'm glad this had a happy ending. I understand Merlin's fear, I've been there and it didn't end as well for me.

I kept yelling at the screen, "Merlin, you're an idiot! He told you,you matter!" Poor boy really screwed up, though in his defense, Arthur pretty much planted the seeds of his insecurity by wanting them to keep their relationship a secret. How the heck was Merlin supposed to take him seriously when Arthur treated him like a dirty little secret?

This is gorgeous and intense and it made me ache and I love it!

I've been in that same situation and well...it didn't end as well for me either *sigh* but I couldn't tell that story, it would just be sad and I needed a happy ending!

You're totally right, Arthur planted the seeds of doubt when they were 16 and Merlin just wasn't sure anymore. *sighs* Poor boys.
