Darn. I've been working on this off and on since mid-December! I have some good individual scenes done and more outlined but I need to just go in and write them. My shiny new job is still shiny and great but the two hour daily commute (roundtrip) is making it hard to get some things done during the week.
Thank you to everyone for the great feedback on the series so far. It really means a lot and makes a huge difference!
Hopefully SB and I can get some collaboration time to chat tonight; she's like my writing partner even though we're writing different stories. My best Jane/Cho stuff comes out of our chats.
So, here's a scene from part 4. Hope you like! :)
A loud knock on the door jolted them out of their private moment, breaking through the passionate fog. They looked at each other startled a moment at the interruption then burst into laughter.
"I suddenly had a flash of my father bursting in," Cho said, his eyes twinkling.
Jane smirked. "Want to invite your parents over? If we time it just right, we can be in the middle of sex when they--OOF!" Jane grinned unrepentantly even as a throw pillow suddenly hit him squarely in the face.
They were both disheveled, their shirts halfway unbuttoned, hair mussed. Jane looked debauched, like a fallen angel, Cho mused to himself. He'd never looked more appealing.
After one more quick kiss, Cho got up reluctantly and made his way to the door. He opened the door impatiently, whipped out his wallet, took out several bills, pressed them into the delivery guy's hand, grabbed the food and went back inside quickly, closing the door so fast it almost slammed. He heard a whoop of joy though the door and paused, realizing that he'd probably just tipped the guy $50. He looked at his tempting, wicked angel on the sofa, shrugged and thought, 'Worth it.'
Cho walked over to the couch with a smirk, his eyes devouring Jane, whose face was now turning a lovely shade of pink. Jane stretched his arms above his head and then flinched hard in pain at the movement, making a face. Cho's heart stopped a moment, sudden flashbacks from the shooting filling his vision. He must have spaced out a moment because suddenly, Jane was there, taking the food bags, speaking softly to him and leading him back to the couch and sitting down beside him and dropping the bags on the coffee table.
"Cho? Talk to me, please," Jane was stroking Cho's face with his hand, gently grasping Cho's chin and nudging him to look into Jane's eyes.
"You can't," Cho said low and bleak, shaking his head, the words said unthinkingly.
"Can't what?" Jane asked with a confused look on his face.
Cho finally came back to himself, changing his posture and straightening up, almost pulling away. He tried to change the subject, looking for the bags. "Where's the food?"
Jane frowned. "Answer the question. Can't what?"
Cho looked away, grabbed the first bag of food he could reach and began pulling food out, muttering, "Can't eat all the food."
Jane's eyes narrowed and he looked determined. "That's not what you meant. Tell me," Jane squeezed his shoulder a bit too hard.
Cho gave a short, hard exhale of breath and met Jane's gaze, his eyes angry. "You can't die. Okay?!" He said shortly, almost yelling.
Jane looked thoughtfully at him a long moment. Jane squeezed his shoulder again, gentler this time, reassuring. "I have no intention of leaving. I haven't finished breaking you in," he said lightly, a teasing twinkle in his eye, taking one of the food boxes out of Cho's hands, grabbing some chopsticks, digging in and eating enthusiastically. "Dumplings! My favorite."
Cho glared and tried to take his food back. "The dumplings are mine; stop stealing!"
Jane pulled back a bit, his eyes twinkling with mirth. "Come and get it."
Cho gave a low growl and grabbed Jane by the shoulders, staring hard at his mouth. "You're a complete ass and should be punished."
Before Jane could protest, Cho pulled him closer and gave him a fast, hard kiss. He pulled back, wrapping one arm around Jane, pulling him to his side. "Pass me the noodles, jerk," he said with little real heat, his eyes twinkling just a bit.
He passed him the noodles, snuggled in a bit closer and finished eating the dumplings. He smirked as he stole some of Cho's spareribs while the other man was busy working the remote.
