Thank goodness I made the decision to make today a catch-up day for my students. I have only recently discovered all the merits of a catch-up day. It helps the students, I can get caught up on other things, and it protects me when parents "snap" at me about their child's grade. Catch up days, huh? Interesting idea- and it sounds great for you!! How often are you allowed to do those? ;-)

And about the tests- that's amazing! I hope your kids test well- not that you would wish ill well on someone, but it would be nice for people (like Lisa) to see that the students are worth something. You know, if nothing else at least it gives the students something to strive for! I mean, if you're just studying for a teacher's exam you know how to study for it, you know her style, and you can argue about essays with her. But taking a national exam, that's different. Maybe just one student will be pushed a little harder to prepare, and I think that'd be worth it. So way to go- that's a great victory!!!
