Can I still get you something for your birthday, though? I had a good idea. And I'm buying local. er. It'll still be a week late, granted.
And yeah, I think it's a wonderful idea. I've been trying vaguely to do the same for a while now. I still think we should maybe make little things for eachother, because symbols are important, but it could be as simple as a scarf or a really nice sandwich, I think.

Didn't you basically have us do this last year, with the donations to Jazz Fest? My memory is fuzzy, but I think so. Way to go, you probably subconciously inspired me.

And you're right, there's a monetary value on these things. I always think to myself, "Okay, I've gotta spend $15 on all these people, and if I get something that's only $5 I'm going to have to supplement it with something else," even if it's a fine gift on it's own.

On the things I do: I come up with these valient efforts so that I can write about them in my livejournal. Seriously, that's probably like 85% of the reason I do them.
