Overall I'm not really sure what I think about this episode. I watched at 3am quite drunk, so I rewatched it today, in case that had changed my perception of it at all.
and I must say... no, it didn't. I'm pretty sure I didn't like it.
First off, why did all the "true" comments about Jane have to center about her looks? And the guy at the dentist's talking about how his wife is not as hot now that she's older? It's true that that was set-up for pedophilia, but still. And the first one convinced that her boyfriend was cheating on her. Sure, I can get how that would drive someone to desperation. And, the woman at the bar who had just bought new boobs. The only truth that was different was the old woman who drove over a homeless person. Gah. It , but it just seems a little too much all in the same vein. Girls and women only care about what men think about them. Women are lying and conniving and the occasional man is a pervert.
And I must say. The ending? What. The fuck. I wasn't paying attention to the time, so when the beat down happened I was fully expecting some sort of explanation or resolution, or at least something, but all of a sudden it was just credit roll. And gah. I really don´t like these beat downs. Sure, I get that Dean would be pissed at Sam. Pissed for letting him get turned, setting him loose on Lisa and Ben, and lying about the whole thing. Lying about a lot of things. But surely a couple of punches should be enough to get that across (nevermind that we have these wonderful things called words, although I know that Winchesters aren't always the best with those). No need to keep going until Sam's nose was probably broken.
But so! Sam is not human! He is emotionless and feeling-less! GOD I hope this will get fixed somehow. This is an interesting arc and I'm excited to see what they do with it, but it's hard to sit through it. I would really really like to see some happiness in Sam and Dean's lives. Just a little bit. Which means that Sam needs to be able to feel and Dean needs to have Sam be okay, somehow. So I've heard rumours that Sam is this way because he's without his soul. Which could be a cool plot! Except - we know that Bobby was also without his soul, so shouldn't he have changed, too? Or wait, I bet that he still had his soul, it was just going to go somewhere once he died. Maybe Sam's soul is actually missing, not just held in trust somewhere until he dies. Huh. I need to think about this. AAAAHH next week can come now!
The Halloween party was fun! But I was a little hung over this morning and haven't been nearly as productive as I should be. Only means I´m going to work even harder tomorrow. Oh well! hopefully I can get at least some done before I have to go to bed.
