Hmm, I think this episode was actually quite important to the plot. The Crowley scene in the beginning, making the boys realise that there's no way out of this and as merry as a demon can be, Crowley sure seems like one, but is dead serious about the fact that he can throw Sam back into the pit anytime he likes.

Also the ending was I think very important. This was Sam finally being honest about how he "feels" (I know he can't feel, but how he sees himself right now and what he thinks they should do) and I could see a flicker of hope in Dean's eyes. He had been so the edge lately because this person next to him wasn't his brother, even if he claimed so. But now Sam came forward with the truth and same time admitted that he does want to get his soul back. So they were finally on the same line with things.

But I guess it's so much about interpretation.

Btw, a date, yay! ;) How did that go?

I agree, there were important bits at the beginning and at the end, but I was more referring to the whole skin walker thing. I've always preferred episodes that move the story forward rather than a MOTW style, which is just my preference, and the skin walker thing didn't grab me, but i can totally see how it would for others! The scene at the end is definitely important, and I love getting more insight into Sam's thinking, but I didn't really see how the beginning scene with Crowley was that important, because we'd basically been told all of this last week. But I guess it doesn't hurt to really have it all hammered out. Or maybe I was just tired and didn't really pay attention to the episode :P we'll see if I change my mind during a rewatch ( ... )

I think I'm just enjoying the MOTF theme for now after two seasons of just this Angel and Apocalypse plotline. Kind of enjoying the "back to the basics" (well, basics with a bit of a twist) theme.

For me the beginning scene with Crowley wasn't as much about making as viewers get the point, but more like showing the sturboness of the boys and their unwillingness of being a Demon's bitches. And how them realising they have no other choises let to the final scene where Sam realises he needs to be totally honest with Dean now to pull through this together.

I dunno, again just my interpretations of this whole season x) I'm trying to find reasons for everything, and sometimes over-analyzing things a little bit :D

I'm glad the date went well and that the guys seems potential :) Good luck with him!

Haha, it's important to highlight the importancy of important things ;)
