"Grow your own" is an interesting idea. I don't know how that would work in your climate, and Australia has had bad experiences with invasive non-native species before. But I don't think there's any greater danger in smoking and growing your own, in fact, likely less, as you're not going to dump all the extra chemicals into your tobacco that the cigarette companies do.

Packaging doesn't matter. Cigarettes are as addictive as heroin. Does a heroin addict give a shit about the packaging? They just want the contents.

They seem to be taking the opposite tact here in the States. They're going to start plastering the packages with corpses and cancer patients. I'm sure that's why American Spirit came out with those nifty tins a few months back. IDK.

We've had the gruesome pictures (and TV ads) for years and years here.... so apparently they don't work and the government wants to try... nothing... instead!
