"On Freedom" - by the FBI

Aug 22, 2007 12:28

Apparently, the new policy of the FBI is that brown people on ferries who aren't interested in scenery are potential terrorists until they prove otherwise:
[Special Agent in Charge] Gomez said: These two men "showed an inordinate interest in the operation of the shipboard systems as opposed to the beautiful scenery passing by."

. . .

In this case, Gomez said the suspicious activity of the two men has been deemed to not rise to the level of planning terrorism "that we know of." But that lack of certainty is "why we want to talk to them."
This, of course, is completely in line with the principles that have always guided our country: "The only thing we have to fear is lack of fear itself" and "terrorist until proven innocent." Oh, and "freedom is slavery," "war is peace," and "ignorance is strength."

USA! USA! USA!
