Thought I better get this up before I went to bed! Big thanks to purple_bug. I sent this to her last night before I went to bed, then got up this morning to find it sitting in my inbox. Now that, my friends, is some awesome kind of work!

Ooh, I like. I like lots! Especially Jack's reasons for trying to push the Doctor in Rose's direction. Not Jack the purely selfless matchmaker, because that's really not him.

There was so much sexual tension on board, and there’s only so much you can get out of a one-night stand when you have to come home to two people who really need to shag each other.

No, his motives were hardly pure or selfless; he just wanted them to work off that incredible sexual tension so he could get some peace and quiet.

LOL! Absolutely loved that.

And even Jack the seducer is ruthlessly in control, not getting carried away no matter how much he's enjoying it. Could come across as a little manipulative, perhaps, except that I think I detect hints that he is fond of Rose as well.

Looking forward to more! And thank you for taking part in the ficathon. :)

Thank you! :)

Yeah, there is definitely some fondness there for Rose, which will come across more strongly in the next couple of chapters!

I was going through old fics at Time and Chips, cause I'm bored, and came across one of yours, and noticed that at the top you'd written that you were a Kiwi :)
Yay! for another Kiwi at time and chips.
So, i figured I would check out where you're from, and low and behold, you're a fellow Aucklander.. and not only that, you're a Priamry School teacher.. I'm training to be one!
Anyway, bout to go read your fic.. can't remember what one it is.

Awesome we need some more teachers! You're training at ACE? BEd, or post grad? I'm currently working at a school in Te Atatu South (and loving it!)

I think the one is probably "The Big Blue Box of the Powell Estate", though I tend to throw around that I'm Kiwi a lot. You've checked out my profile, have you been over to check out my comm sci_fi_kiwi.

I see also that you have one of my colour bars on your profie page which is always a good way to get me on side! :)

Anyway, always great to meet another New Zealander. (and I've friended you, but if you don't want that, let me know - no harm done!)

Yup, at Ace (technically part of Auck.Uni now, but everyone still calls it ACE I guess.)BEd. Did a Diploma in Hospitality a few years ago, worked for a bit,a nd changed my mind. So I'm back at Uni, and gah. assignments! exams! why!?

Yup, that was the fic. Very funky fic at that. Nice way to look at the presence of a big blue box jsut sitting there :)

Yes, I have many colour bars, do i not? :D I put them up ages after I stole them ;) So couldn't credit anyone, as I had no idea who made them.

Shall check out sci_fi_kiwi later in the week, after my last (yay!) exam on monday.

will friend you back. unless i already have. i have no idea. lol

See, there are some advantages to living in different time zones :o) You're welcome, and I'll try to keep up the same level of speediness with however many more chapters you have coming.

Captain Jack Harkness came one way - what you saw was what you got, folks;

I love this - it's just Jack. Well, sort of Jack. It's Doctor Who Jack, if you strip him out of the con, but that's not the point. I like the line, I like the 'folks'.

The other thing I really, really, reallyreally liked here was the image of the Doctor being a DARK figure. That's something about Nine I've always liked. He's an *intense* presence. He fills up space like everything and nothing and you captured that really well.

Nine can be so wonderful to write. Not fun like Ten, but there's a lot to work with.

This reminds me, I kind need to finish this. :|

Thank you! :)

Is the rest of the story archived somewhere? This is an interesting start.
