I am going to find out who wrote this episode, because DAMN, SO MUCH BETTER.
Also I am going to watch that Gaga number over and over again - and then some more. SO MUCH AWESOME.
After last week's horror, I wasn't expecting much. Thankfully it was (almost) a return to the show I fell in love with at the start of the season.
None of the plotlines were soaking in that sickly, overdone, after school 'very special episode' crap which the last few episodes have been drenched in.
Oh, the sentimentality was there, but it didn't make me gag. Plus most of it was touched with little more self-awareness in the humour.
I live for scenes in Figgins' office, I really do, particulary scenes that involve both Sue and Will. Though this one with Tina (and minus Sue) was wonderful. 'Figgins believes in vampries' was brilliant, classic. As was the scene where the Meyers fans went after Jacob Ben Israel. And a nice little tie up, where Tina scares Figgins into letting her be herself again.
The Rachel+Shelby storyline was nice and (again) not to sickly. Likewise the bully one.
I try not to let Puck's softer side get to me, because he's pretty much an arsehole the rest of the time. But OMG he had me wibbling by the end of his speech.
It wasn't a perfect episode - Glee still has a lot of unrealised potential, but it's a step in the right direction.
OK, going to go and watch that Gaga scene again (and again...and again).
Also my 'Glee: The Music Volume Three' arrived today. I am happy.
