Yeah, I had the same issue with getting the classes I wanted when I was starting out too. It won't be as bad after your first semester, though I'm surprised you got into a psychology class at all, those are usually always full.

Books will kick your ass man, especially if you go to the campus bookstore.

As soon as you find out what books you're looking for, find them in the bookstores, jot down the ISBN numbers, and look them up online at someplace like Amazon. You'll find used books a LOT cheaper there.
