I mentioned this to Roy last night, but it's worth repeating.
I am going to try to start the trend of referring to The Great Depression as "Depression I". Either that or The Depression to End All Depressions. Seriously, you think we would have learned a lesson about naming conventions after all the goose-stepping.

Depression I is good. because obviously, it was not the depression to end all depressions. as noted by your comment "you think we would have learned..."

You realize that the Depression to End All Depressions is abbreviated D.E.A.D.
I like DEAD I.
I think you may be on to something.

I'd go with D-t-E-A-D, since there were many depression prior to the one in the 30s.
