When I moved into my previous apartment, it came with "hook-ups" for a washer and drier. When I explained that I was reluctant to pay the amount of rent he wanted for a place with no washer and drier (and that I wasn't about to buy them for a rental property) he went out and bought some.

The realtor called both of us to tell us that he's working on the fridge situation. Wonder how long I should give them.

We rented a house and bought I fridge when I was a senior with very similar situations. What was happening is that it was the owners first rental property and first tenants and they were very hesitant to rent to anyone. It all worked out OK and we bought a scratch and dent fridge for a few hundred dollars and sold it when we left.
