Thank you all for the hugs and well wishes. I appreciate it. I'm sitting at home enjoying the snowfall...we're supposed to get like 15 inches!!! So I'm excited about that. Anyway, here's a little update on the family situation

sweetheart, I'm so sorry you're sister has to deal with this situation, but I'm grateful they caught it while they could be proactive. Modern medicine is an absolute marvel, and if she has half the positive attitude you do, she'll be able to fight this.

Hugs for your mom, too. I can't even imagine what this must be like for her.

I can't believe how much you've had to deal with, I am so sorry hon..

I have a prolapsed mitral valve, and was told I do not have regurgitation at this time *knock on wood*. By definition, PMV is a murmur and I have occasional tachycardia. I told my mom (I think both our mom's are nurses?), and she sends her well wishes, but also said to please get a 2nd possibly 3rd opinion from another top cardio doc before going ahead. Just to make doubly sure your sis isn't being put through the surgery unnecessarily.
