Remy was back in New York again after months of traveling America's different states, meeting new people, and trying new foods. He had left Elle here, gone off without her, left the life that they had created together in the three months that he had stayed. But he was a drifter, a wanderer, everywhere and nowhere was home and he could not be confinded to one location for too long. That did not mean, however, that he did not miss her. He was home, but just for tonight.

Dropping his backpack on the oak wood floor by the door of the apartment, wandering through the dark rooms and hallway into the bedroom. His dark eyes scanned the empty bed and flashes of memories from his last return home filled his vision.

"Four months! Four months, Remy! You told me, you promised me two!" Elle yelled at him in frustration as he entered the door. He had expected a happy greeting. Elle running and jumping on him, covering him in hugs and kisses. What he got was a slap to the face. Rubbing his cheek then massaging the bridge of his nose he closed his eyes for a moment. "I know, Hon, I know. Things just got fucking complicated."
"Complicated? How complicated is buying a ticket and getting on a plane?" she said in frustration. Rubbing his tired eyes he wished Elle would just be quiet for at least a moment.

"Elle I'm tired, I just want to go to sleep. I'm tired." Shaking her head Elle picked up something hard from the table, chucking it at Remy's head as he began to walk away, pulling off his shirt as he did.

"WHAT THE FUCK ELLE?" He screamed, ripping is shirt from over his head and clutching it as he turned back around to glare at her. "Are you trying to kill me?"

"I wish," she retorted. "You're tired? I'm tired of waiting up months waiting for you to come home. Don't get used to me being here." With that she snatched up her purse from the couch, stompping towards the door.

"Wait, Elle," he called out to her. "Elle!" but the door was already slamming shut behind her and all he could do was sigh.

Running his fingers through his dark hair he clutched it for a moment at the memory and began to undress. It was almost as if her clothes where on his floor one day and the next his own empty bottles of beer from the same night that he left once again. Laying down on the cold bed, Remy looked at the phone beside the table, contemplating whether or not to actually use it. Elle could be anywhere in the world right now. Or she could be back with her parents... he knew that number by heart. He had called her everynight when the first began dating.

Dialing the seven digit number he let it ring twice before hanging up, throwing it across the small room. Nothing he said would count for much anyway.
