Freecycle

Do you use freecycle? I just signed up for our local list. There's a bunch of stuff I'd like to get rid of, and there's stuff I'd keep an eye out for. I've heard varying reports of the usefulness/convenience, but I'm willing to try it out.

freecycle.org

Then you have to find a group in your area - in this state, there seems to be a group in just about every county, so that probably wouldn't be difficult.

The one I joined is a yahoo! list and you have to "apply" - but mine was approved immediately.

Sorry! Should have explained more. It's like a recycling list, but it's for all kinds of stuff. Anything you have that you no longer want, you can post - and then people will email you, and pick it up. You can also post stuff you want/need, and hopefully someone will be able to help you out.

It's totally trust based, etc, and you have to be careful for your own security, but it should work well for the most part. It's basically a huge community give away/recycle group.

I'll let you know if I have any luck with it! :)

You can check for a group in your area at freecycle.org
