There needs to be some "where are they now" for old big-name fanfic authors who disappeared off the net.
Nowadays, at least, authors who quit can update their FFN pages to let their readers now.

A friend of mine there died. Well, I think he was a friend. I want to believe that I could say he was my friend, if I had any idea what a "friend" was like--but that's another can of worms altogether. Let's say he was my friend, because I want to say that.
