Long Drives in the Countryside

I got to thinking today about why exactly I like to take long drives around places that I've never been around town. I got into the habit back in Phoenix, and it has carried over to Portland (just this last Saturday I made it partway into Washington before nearly running out of gas in fuckknowswhere and having to turn around). You are so much more eloquent than I. But that would be one of the many reasons that I love you so much.
We must go on a roadtrip together this summer. I will learn to drive and we can spend time out on the open road, splitting the cost of gas and of food, sleeping crumpled up in hotels or your car, soaking in the smells of each little town and big city we pass through.
Adventuring with you is so much fun. But then, when you're around, pretty much every experience is an adventure.
