Long Beach Fire. My parents are fine.

I realize that several of you know my parents or know of them. I've made some references to the fire, but I haven't posted it here so everyone can know they're OK. My parents live in the same tower as the unit where the fire was. Their place is directly below it on the 11th floor. OMG! I had no idea! I'll watch the videos for coverage. Holy Hannah, that's horrible. Do they know what caused the fire? I am SO glad TandE are OK. How about their friends? Dang my memory for not remembering their names; those nice folks who dropped in while we were visiting? They're OK, right?

The neighbors were in Hawaii and so were out of harm's way. Not only that, but there seems to have been little or no damage to the other three towers, so their place is fine.

The intensity of the blaze means that there's very little evidence to go by. The investigators ruled out arson. It started in the kitchen, so it's a fairly safe bet that it was an untended something on the stove.

Wow! How scary! I am glad that your parents are alright and that they had relatively minimal damage to their home and belongings.

I didn't know about the fire in Long Beach. I will have to ask my parents if they heard about it.

I hope you and your parents have a wonderful time together!

I keep forgetting your Long Beach connection! I have you so firmly in Texas that my mind doesn't remember anything that doesn't agree with that.

As I understand it, anyone who watched television for those two days definitely saw it as it was everywhere.

They're flourishing, thanks. They've confirmed that their homeowners' insurance (USAA) will pay for them to stay in a corporate apartment while they cannot return to their home. They have found a place just down the street from their home and mom tells me it has a pool, a gym, and it's right by where she goes for yoga. Sounds like me and my checking out that there's a tae kwan do do jiang available in Tashkent.

That sounds excellent. Almost makes me wish our place would catch on fire! But not quite.
