Reply to this post and I'll give you four fandoms (really, 'verses). Write about your favorite character from each fandom.

anywhere_but_nj gave me:
Star Wars, How I Met Your Mother, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight

Star Wars
Ah, this is hard. Movie-wise, I'm a Han Solo girl. In the end, though, I'd have to say Jaina. The first EU books I read were the YJK and I was 11 or 12 at the time. She's such a complex character who isn't written well enough of the time. I suppose I always identified with the desire to be your own person.

How I Met Your Mother
Even though Barney is hilarious, Lily is my favorite character. In a way, she's the mother hen of the group. Even when she's going through something, she still supports her friends. In addition, even though Lily and Marshal often have the same storylines, she remains an individual character, not an extension of her husband. As someone would never wants to be thought of as that, it's great to see a television character that isn't just an accessory.

Hunger Games
Katniss, obviously. She wasn't trying to win the Games or take advantage of winning. Her lack of expectations to survive the games is actually appealing. Her view is more realistic. Few would be positive in such a horrible place. But just for fun, I'll list my favorite secondary character: Caesar Flickeman. His interviewing skills are fascinating.

Harry Potter
Ron was always my favorite. While I can identify with Hermione, Ron always stuck out. He's the character that fades into the background more often than not, yet he still shines through. While he does wallow in his lack of notoriety occassionally, his loyalty makes up for it. He understands what needs to be done and is willing to stand aside to let Harry do what he needs to do.

Twilight
Charlie, Bella's father, is my favorite character. He wants to be a father to his daughter that he barely knows, but his personality doesn't allow him to come forward when necessary. Charlie knows something is going on. He's a better character in the movies than in the books, which probably says more about the actor than anything else. What makes Charlie so appealing to me is his personality. He's not the hapless dad.
