Very evocative, and so emotional. I can really picture this happening. Wonderfully written! <3

Thank you.

I like to think Zak would have beaten Lee up over Kara, or Lee would have let him anyway. Twisty but true.

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed this. I think Kara can be very intuitive. :)

Oh Zak. I mean I get the concept of provocation but I'm just thinking about this. What if Zak was totally an ass? It isn't unusal to venerate a loved one who died before their time. What if the picture of Zak we got was totally hindsight from Kara and Lee and Bill.

Loved Kara in this. Her familiarity and ease with being in physical pain but her difficulty with seeing Lee in that same situation. It's heartbreaking. And it is so easy to see Lee taking it all, both the physical and emotional abuse from Zak and still believing he has yet more to atone.

Wow, I'll say this piece really made me think thinky thoughts about all the characters which I'm not communicating very well but I do think that's one of the signs of a great fic.

I love this idea especially for Zak, the idea that everyone has invented a past to fit with the guilt they feel in the present because I think it is very true to life. There are some Zak-isn't-such-a-great-guy fics around. Let me know if you want some recs.

Kara's very twisted relationship with physical pain is fascinating, and I really like how it played out in this. How it ended up creating another level to her feelings for Lee.

Glad you enjoyed and got to do something. :)

Thank you!

Yes, I'll read those. I like that concept! On the one hand I like to think anyone who could snag Kara has to be great - on the other hand...

This is the first part of one of my favorites. It is unfinished if that's a problem for you. Very frustratingly unfinished because she teases that she's about the postthe final chapter adn then doesn't. :( But I love it because it's an interesting twist and the first really AU-ish fic I ever really got into. The Zak bit is really subtle but that's what I think makes it work. Eris and Aurora part 1

This is my favorite "evil Zak". It's not perfect, but I love it! becasue she fully commits to the idea. Another Way

Ouch! The way she tries to turn it all towards her. The violence and the blame. The way he takes it all quietly and resigned to it. Her knowing which hospital is ok to go to. *sob*

That last line. Gah! It's gutting. Excellent work.

Thank you.

The bit about the hospital is one of my favorite details actually. Somthing about Kara's ability to deal with the real implications of violence is really heartbreaking, yet something she would have picked up on even as a child I think.

The last paragraph is just solid gold! Lee wanting to take the all the blame, and absolving Kara. And I love how in the end, Kara realizes that she needed Lee and what they had runs deeper than a brief fling.

Thank you so much.

Kara twisted view on connection and pain is so interesting to me. I don't think characters are allowed to be flawed like that very often.

I agree with you! I definitely think of Kara as a person who has a unique perception of pain and physical force - only she has the ability to interpret violence as a symbol of love. =)
