that book meme...

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they’ve printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.

2) Italicize those you intend to read.

3) Underline those you LOVE.

4) Strikethrough the books you’d rather shove hot pokers in your eyes than read (or finish).

5) ASTERISK ** next to books partially read ( ( Read more... )

What are your Harry Potter needs for the finale? Perhaps I can give you the spoiler-free run down on whether it would be OK to finish it or not. In my opinion, it was such a cathartic experience to finish that series. I can't imagine being left hanging without closure on it.

I actually know what more or less what happens in the final HP, at least the parts I was curious about. I freely spoil. ;)

My needs are execution based, in that I'm afraid that I'll be somehow disappointed in the telling of the story.

My plan, cuz I have one, is to watch the movies and then read as I did with the first two books. To this day I swear this is why I always liked Harry and Ginny because I could picture the cute little actress while reading. ;)

Ahhh gotcha. Yes, I thought the story telling was well done. Extremely so. But I stan for Jo pretty hard so I may have blinders on there.

Hee! I loved Harry/Ginny in the books. But struggled with them in the movies. I just can't find Dan Rad make-out-able. He should just be a BAMF in general and not get put into ships.

I totally agree about Daniel Radcliff. He was cast to be an awkward boy, not a heartthrob. :)

There are so many things that I think JKR did so well in the HP books that I fear my odd issues with endings will get in the way. It's weird.

One Hundred Years of Solitude and The Handmaid’s Tale have been on my to-read list for ages. I feel like I really should pick the first one, especially because I can read it in the Spanish original.

I love them both so. I wish I could read the original One Hundred Years od Solitude. The Handmaid's Tale one of very favorites ever. :)

If this were a list of plays, I'd kick ass! I took enough Lit classes to almost double major, but more poetry and odd things. I read Midnight's Children for a class on Third World Novels in English, lots of novels from India but a great class.

Oh, very cool! Must share this and give this some thought. Does it count if you've read 50% of the book (or series) and know that you can't/won't ever finish it?
